WCSGA Handicap Policy and Procedures
Association members are required to maintain a USGA GHIN (Golf Handicap Information Network) index, which will be used in Association tournament play. GHIN membership can be purchased through the Watters Creek golf shop, through another course, or directly through Texas Golf Association. If a new member already has a GHIN index, he should note it on the registration application and confirm with course and Association management. An existing GHIN index can be used immediately for tournament play.
If a new member does not have a GHIN index, he will play tournaments under the Callaway 16 handicapping method until a GHIN index is active and updated on the Association roster.
Watters Creek staff will collect all scorecards and validate against scores entered electronically through the golf carts. Tournament scores are then automatically posted to GHIN. All rounds entered in GHIN are used for index calculation and members should keep up with entering their own scores in GHIN for non-Association rounds.
